I used GFT as my first account after getting a phone call and free training offer. I blew out my first account within weeks. Too much leverage will do that I have since learned a bit more.
I still use this account some and the more I look for others the happier I am with GFT their spreads are good. I could not use them as my main platform though as I want to scalp.
The platform does freeze on my XP (last saw this happen about 8 months ago), have not tried since I got W7. I just use the web portal it works fine. It has a single click that is very fast only had a requote twice in two years during NFP trades where I clicked to still do it and then got stuck in limbo. I now click I pass and simply redo the one click trade if I decide I still want to.
The settle date versus closing the trade is only a factor if you are trading a cross. If you are trading in a USD account and buy and sell USD/JPY then when you are done you have USD in your account and there is nothing to settle. If you are trading EUR/JPY then once the trade is over you have a profit in EUR yen that must be converted to USD if your account is USD. This price is small though some people really freaked out about it on this message board, it is unleveraged so it is miniscule compared to the trade profits and losses.
They seem to be a good company that is looking to keep your business though they are a bit aggressive in that they call you from time to time and ask if you are planning to put $25k in the market anytime soon for the benefit of their hand holding and free training. Easy enough to say no though.

Ive traded with gft on two live accounts years apart. I got the same ending both times.= no profit, just loss after loss. the other night just to test my theory I traded 15 times in 6 hours. all my trades were matched by price action almost perfectly for losses. It was like a heat seeking missile following my every move. Are you telling me for years now I can predict accurately the peaks and valleys exactly backwards. Or that I can do it 15 times in one night. Im excellent at reading charts. the sheer odds of all these trades going against me for years in astronomical. In my opinion gft is price fixing and price manipulating. The reason some people are reporting gains is that their trading stile is during high volume times when its hard for them to manipulate price. Im going to consider forex to be a selective scam because some people do make money depending on a number of factors. Like the one I mentioned above. Im hoping for more regulation of the forex scam or shut them all down. Its stealing and theft and its wrong. I give GFT 1 star. I think 1 star is too much for them though. I hope the money they stole is worth the bad p.r. The fact that this is so inherent in the forex industry makes it a CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT FRAUD which they can go to prison for.

ALL of the brokers ARE scamming us and I can prove it.

The GFT Demo filled the sell signal NEXT DAY at 1.4357 (minus slippage right there) but Live Automatic filled at a terrible 1.4353, thats MINUS 4 PIPS, last price was 1.4349 but I could close at 1.4351 for a disastrous MINUS 6 PIPS deficit before you even get started.

Thats a far cry from their as low as claim of 1 pip. The next three trades were -7, -10, -6. Interbank was also -5 on the last trade. *** PAY ATTENTION *** That minus spread on every trade demolishes virtually every strategy and they are all doing this. Theres little to no chance.

I showed this to a GFT online chat rep and they responded, there are seconds lapse on the demo. What a bunch of spinning crap that is. They always have a rigged answer for all of their crooked behavior.

We traders need to do more than just complain about this unethical behavior from this industry or its never going to change. AT MOST, they should be 2 pips off the NEXT DAY open. So much for the LYING CHEATING 1 pip claim.

I don know if they have gotten better (its been a few years) but i have to say gft sucks, or at least sucked.

1st it took forever (week or two) to get the funds in and the account opened and ready to go. not that big of a deal i know

2nd the demo i was testing suddenly stopped connecting so i of course did the next illogical step, open a live account (my own fault i know). so then dealbook (their trading software) wouldnt let me use almost any indicators in a mini account. being new to forex i got another brokers demo account to use and learn about all the indicators (no big deal right, my moneys safe....... right). so it took a while b4 i ever thought about trying live again.

3rd i do not know if it was a inactivity fee or just a membership fee but i was charged a few hundred in just a few months (i confess i only skimed over the agreement)

but they did give me my money back quick atleast that was good

i know this is all my fault for not reading the agreement but gft still sucks, it just does

I have been trading with Gft for about 5 years without major problems. Everything seemed ok when I was loosing money on consistant basis. In the past year I took a small amount of capital and turned it into substantial amount, and decided to take some money out. After the withdrawl I had nothing but negative experiances with them. Platform freezing sometimes for 5-15 min ,orders rejected, had to restart my platform and so on. I tried contacting them, but they just give you a bunch of usual bs. I am really disappointed with gft, they have good platform but thats about it. I truelly believe gft like 99% of the forex brokers out there are nothing more then a scam. I heard so many horror stories, Im thinking about getting out of forex all together and switching to futures. Its hard enough to make money trading, last thing you wanna worry about is your broker playing games with you.

good luck

Funny thing
I was trading in this company and I made deposit many times, when I lost my money the account has at the end less than 10$, then they suspend my account, that I can not login till I make another deposit, I told them that I have money inside the account and I want to login to my account to see what I did during the previous trades, they told me that, now the account is in negative 2.47$ and I can not login till I make deposit.

As usuall, good way to deal with clients :)

nice GFT

250 $ is the mini account, but with a mini account you cannot use indicators!

Yes, you read well: no indicators at all!! Not even the simple average!
To use indicators you need at least a 2500$ account.
The demo account expires in 30 days and there is no way to renew it!
It is not written anywhere in their website... But after 30 days you just get an alert: Demo account expired, open a real one to continue.
So, even if their platform, Dealbook 360, is a very good piece of software I definitely do NOT recommend this broker!

I am a client of GFT. Before beginning with them I looked into the regulatory bodies to see what their track record was. Over 10 years with no flaws. Other brokers I checked had numerous claims against them. The NFA website is where to check on this. I am not sure what all these claims are that I read. Here is what I receive as a customer:

Great service-The phone number goes to a live licensed person not a phone system. All the brokers I speak to are helpful and friendly.

Great platform-Not for the beginner. If you dont like their platform it is because you have little experience. I use to pay for charting that I now get for free.

Great spreads-Their spreads dont bounce all over the place like other brokers.

Fast access to my funds-they process requests usually the same day.

I also have a lot of confidence in the company. If you ask to come visit they welcome you to their facilities, show you around and spend time with you. Also see them at trade shows year after year. They must treat employees well as the same people are there year after year. Good people only stick w/ good companies! Also you can see by checking the cftc.gov website that their finances are in order and their capital doesnt bounce around. With all that has happened in the financial world it is nice to see a company show stable growth and have solid financial books.

I know many others that feel the way I do and stay with GFT year after year. I can only think that some of the comments I read are unfounded or competitors posting garbage to trash a company that treats me fairly.

I think the best thing I can say is that GFT knows who you are. You are not just a random broker. Many their know me by first name and that is nice when doing business with a large firm like GFT!

GFT Has the worst ethics I have ever encountered in this industry. They don hesitate to take advantage of the fact that they have our money, and won pay us our profits unless they feel so inclined. How do you go about proving you weren trading when they say that you were? I have had winning trades appear on my account, out of nowhere. I have also had losing trades appear out of nowhere. Of course, the losers were for big amounts, and the winners were paltry. Ive changed to another broker, but Id really like to see these guys go down.
